Awards Ceremony
The Collegiate Club Nationals Awards Ceremony will occur at the Sellers Auditorium at the Bryant Conference Center on Saturday, April 28, from 8-9:30 p.m. The Sellers Auditorium, Bryant Conference Center address is: 240 Paul W Bryant Dr, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. See map below for parking locations, indicated by red "P" icons. Parking in these lots is free on weekends.
The High School Nationals Awards Ceremony will take on Friday, April 27 at 3:15 p.m. at the finish line.
Bike Support - VeloCity Pro Cycle
USA Triathlon is pleased to partner with VeloCity Pro Cycle for the Collegiate Club National Championships Bike Support. VeloCity is conveniently located less than a half mile east of the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater at 2318 4th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. For service, please stop by their shop between 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday. VeloCity will also provide basic bike services and maintenance on site at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater as well as on course during races. Note: there may be a charge for more extensive bike services and maintenance.

Science in Sport will provide on-course energy gels and energy bars at aid stations. Science in Sport’s isotonic gels provide fast, easily digestible energy! Both caffeinated and non-caffeinated will be available. Science in Sport will also offer their energy bars on course that pack 26g of carbohydrates into each bar! |
Drug Testing
In accordance with U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) regulations, athletes may be drug tested at this event. Should drug testing occur, there are strict protocols that must be followed and will be coordinated by the on-site USADA representative as well as a USA Triathlon staff member. Jaybird is taking submissions for the best 30-to-60 second video capturing each team's journey to the 2018 USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championships.

Pasta Party
All high school and collegiate participants are welcome to attend the 2018 Pasta Party. The cost is free for all registered athletes and one (1) coach per team. Additional coaches or guests may purchase a ticket at the door for $15.00 each. The Pasta Party will occur on Friday, April 27 at the Tuscaloosa River Market, 1900 Jack Warner Pkwy., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
Team captains or individual athletes not part of a team must pre-register using this link. There is limited seating and all registered teams and athletes will be assigned a time to attend in one of the three slots: 4:30-5:45 p.m., 6:00-7:15 p.m., 7:30-8:45 p.m. Attendees must eat during their assigned window. Slots will be assigned and team posted on this page at a later date.
The deadline to register is Friday, April 20.

All athletes are encouraged to watch the pre-race webinars. These presentations, conducted by Race Director Brian D'Amico, will provide all the information you need for a successful race. Note: The original webinars do not reflect the switch to duathlon.

All draft-legal and high school athletes will be required to attend the mandatory pre-race briefings on Thursday, April 26 as noted on the schedule. All draft-legal and high school course changes will be reviewed at the briefings.
All Olympic-distance and mixed-team relay athletes are encouraged to watch the new webinar below which briefly reviews the course changes for these events. All relay athletes are still required to attend the pre-race briefing on Friday, April 27 at 2:15 p.m.

Roots Fest - Downtown on Saturday
Don't miss the second annual Alabama Roots Fest, happening at Government Square in Downtown Tuscaloosa on Sunday, April 28 from 4-10 p.m.! Roots Fest features a diverse music lineup for all ages and is free and open to the public. Acts include Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Will Hoge, and Adam Hood. Click here for more information.
Sportsmanship
USA Triathlon Sportsmanship Creed
As competitive athletes and members of the triathlon community, you know there is no better feeling than succeeding in your endeavors in sport. As a competitor at USA Triathlon events, you have a responsibility to demonstrate the highest standards of sportsmanship per the USA Triathlon Rulebook (Article III, Sections 3.3 and 3.4, Line b.), and as such, should always show respect for the sport, your fellow athletes, race staff, officials, volunteers and spectators. Each individual athlete shares this responsibility, which includes refraining from the use of improper language and conduct detrimental to the community at large. This rule will be strictly enforced and disrespectful language or conduct will not be tolerated.

Swimming Practice
Swimming in the Black Warrior River is prohibited outside of warm-up times listed on the event schedule.
Below are some options available to have practice swimming during the days prior to race day.
- Lake Lurleen: state park with nominal entry fee
- Lake Nicol: local park with no fee
- Lake Tuscaloosa, Phelps Activity Center: local park with no fee
Swim Safety
- If the water temperature is 55 degrees or below on race morning, all athletes will be required to wear wetsuits.
- Swim socks or neoprene booties are legal for the Collegiate Nationals races
- If you have a latex allergy, please let USAT staff know and you will be provided with a non-latex swim cap
Team Tents
For safety reasons, team tents must be weighted. All team tent areas are on concrete, thus tent stakes will not work. Teams must provide their own weights. Any tent without weights will be removed by USA Triathlon or Tuscaloosa Amphitheater staff.
All tents must be removed by 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.
Timing Chips - Different Procedure in 2018
UPDATED: Unlike previous years, timing chips in 2018 must be returned after the event - they are NOT disposable. If you are participating in multiple races, you will utilize your same chip throughout each race. You will NOT be given a separate chip for each race. If you are doing two (2) races, you will receive a red-strapped chip. If you are doing three (3) races, you will receive a blue-strapped chip. Athletes doing just one (1) race will received a black-strapped chip. Your chip must be returned at the completion of your last (or only) race at the finish line. If you forget to return your chip, you can return it by mail. Lost chips result in a $95 replacement fee. Click here for additional timing chip directions and the return mailing address.
Chip Strap Color Guide:
- Participating in 1 race: black strap
- Participating in 2 races: red strap
- Participating in 3 races: blue strap
Only return your chip to the finish line at the completion of your final event!

You must wear the wristband(s) you receive in your race packet during the entire duration of the event.
