If the 2020 Legacy Triathlon is cancelled due to COVID-19, athletes will be given the option to defer their registration to the same event in 2021 or 2022 or another USA Triathlon owned event in 2021 or 2022. USA Triathlon owned events include: Collegiate Club National Championships (eligibility must be met in accordance to Collegiate Competitive Rules), Duathlon National Championships, and Toyota Age Group National Championships (requiring qualification standards are met).

Important Registration Information

  • There is no qualification required to participate in this event.
  • Relay entry fee: $150 ($50 per person)
  • There is no transfer or deferment of entries from one year to the next.
  • There are no refunds.
  • Athletes MUST be 15 years of age by Dec. 31, 2020 to compete, no exceptions.
  • Registration for the age group and PC open races closes when the event is sold out or by Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MST. 
    •  The Sprint age group race capacity is 1,200.

Toyota Paratriathlon National Championship

Athletes who qualify for the Toyota Paratriathlon National Championship qualify for this event. View qualification standards here. If qualification standards are not met, athletes are encouraged to register in the PC Open category. Registration will close when the event is sold out or by Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MST.

PC Open

Physically Challenged athletes may choose to race in the Physically Challenged (PC) Open division.

Relay Information

Teams choosing to compete in the relay must have three people with each person competing in a different leg of the event. Teams of two, with one person doing two legs, are not permitted. The relay will occur at the same time as the regular triathlon, utilizing the same courses. Athletes cannot participate in both the relay and as an individual.

Open Water Swim Competition - Register Now!

The open water swim competition will take place on Friday, July 17th. This will be a 750m and 1500m swim, and the entry fee is $30 ($25 when purchased with the sprint triathlon). All athletes will receive a swim cap, t-shirt, and awards. This is a timed event and athletes will have 1 hour to complete the swim. There will be no one day USAT membership fee needed for this event.

Event Cancellation and Modification Policy

In the event of extreme weather, natural disaster, community disaster or other unforeseen emergencies, our action steps will be as follows:
  • USA Triathlon, in concert with local officials, will make the final decision based on safety of the athletes, spectators, vendors, volunteers and others affiliated with the event. 
  • USA Triathlon may, based on the conditions of the course, shorten the distances or cancel the event altogether.  
  • Because costs of the event have already been paid out to cover various levels of production expenses, there will be NO REFUNDS, transferred entry fees or future complimentary entry fees.
