Important Registration Information

  • There is no qualification required to participate in this event.
  • Entry fee: $129.
  • Relay entry fee: $150 ($50 per person)
  • There is no transfer or deferment of entries from one year to the next.
  • There are no refunds.
  • Athletes MUST be 15 years of age by Dec. 31, 2019 to compete, no exceptions.
  • Registration for the age group and PC open races closes when the event is sold out or by Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
  • Registration for the Paratriathlon National Championship closes when the event is sold out or by Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST.

Waitlist for Age Group Sprint

The Legacy Triathlon Age Group Sprint is SOLD OUT! Athletes wishing to add themselves to the waitlist may do so through the registration link. Athletes on the waitlist are NOT registered until you receive confirmation directly from USA Triathlon. There is no fee to join the waitlist.

All other race divisions are currently open for registration: Paratriathlon Nationals, PC Open, Challenged Team, Relay and Open Water Swim.

Cancellation 50% Refund for Currently Registered Athletes

Are you currently registered for the Legacy Age Group Sprint and can no longer attend? In an effort to create additional race spots, USA Triathlon is offering a 50% refund on registration costs so your spot can be opened up for somebody else. Please email registration@usatriathlon.org with "Legacy Cancellation" in the subject line stating that you wish to cancel your spot and receive the 50% refund. You will only receive a refund provided that we are able to fill your spot with an athlete from the waitlist. Refunds will be completed on a first-come, first-serve basis based on when USA Triathlon receives the request.

Note that if you purchased registration insurance from Booking Protect during your original registration process, please still let USA Triathlon know that you are planning to cancel. However, Booking Protect will provide your full refund.

PC Open

If an athlete does not classify or does not qualify via the time standards for the Toyota Paratriathlon National Championships, they may choose to race in the Physically Challenged (PC) Open division.

Relay Information

Teams choosing to compete in the relay must have three people with each person competing in a different leg of the event. Teams of two, with one person doing two legs, are not permitted. The relay will occur at the same time as the regular triathlon, utilizing the same courses. Athletes cannot participate in both the relay and as an individual.

Relay Divisions:

  • Standard: Gather 2 friends and compete together in our standard relay!
  • Corporate: Build team cohesion by competing alongside colleagues and against other companies.
  • Law Firm: Race against fellow lawyers in an exciting competition bound to improve personal health and wellness.

Open Water Swim Competition - Register Now!

The open water swim competition will take place on Friday, July 19th at 6:00 p.m.For the 750m swim, the entry fee is $45 ($30 when purchased with the sprint triathlon). For the 1500m swim, the entry fee is $65 ($50 when purchased with the sprint triathlon). All athletes will receive a swim cap, timed event, t-shirt, and awards (breakdown here). There will be no one day USAT membership fee needed for this event. View the course here.

Paratriathlon Clinic

In conjunction with the Challenged Athletes FoundationDare2tri Paratriathlon Club, and Angel City Sports, USA Triathlon will host an introductory paratriathlon clinic on July 19th. Built for beginners, the clinic does not require any prior experience in the sport to participate. Sessions are designed to teach basic swim, bike and run skills with the goal of recruiting new participants to paratriathlon and, ultimately, to future editions of the Toyota USA Paratriathlon National Championships. Splash and Dash

USA Triathlon is proud to launch the Legacy Splash and Dash in conjunction with the Legacy Triathlon. A Splash and Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines swimming and running. This event is open to athletes ages 7-15. The focus is on participation rather than competition, and will not be timed. All athletes will receive a hat, Girls on the Run scarf, and finisher medal! Volunteer Registration

Event Cancellation and Modification Policy

In the event of extreme weather, natural disaster, community disaster or other unforeseen emergencies, our action steps will be as follows:
  • USA Triathlon, in concert with local officials, will make the final decision based on safety of the athletes, spectators, vendors, volunteers and others affiliated with the event. 
  • USA Triathlon may, based on the conditions of the course, shorten the distances or cancel the event altogether.  
  • Because costs of the event have already been paid out to cover various levels of production expenses, there will be NO REFUNDS, transferred entry fees or future complimentary entry fees.
