Due to the level of algae in the lake at Nathan Benderson Park following uncontrollable recent weather conditions, all races at the Sarasota-Bradenton Triathlon Festival will be shifted from triathlons (swim-bike-run format) to duathlons (run-bike-run format). The schedule and start times for all events will remain the same.

Nathan Benderson Park is the site of this two-day celebration of all things triathlon, with racing opportunities for, age-group, collegiate and elite athletes alike.

Hurricane Update: Many homes and businesses suffered damage and power loss due to high winds and the storm’s intensity. Nathan Benderson Park was minimally impacted by the storm and much of the repairs and cleanup have already been completed. Please rest assured that we are confident that this will have no effect on the upcoming event.

Hundreds of age group, collegiate and elite triathletes will compete in sprint and standard distance events. The highlight of the weekend will be the ITU World Cup competition, featuring the world’s fastest triathletes competing head-to-head for the chance to share a $60,000 prize purse.

The 2017 USA Triathlon Elite National Championship will occur in conjunction with the ITU World Cup races. The top USA male and female finishers in the respective ITU World Cup races will be crowned 2017 Elite National Champions.
The events will be hosted at Nathan Benderson Park, a 600-acre community park that is North America’s premier 2,000-meter sprint rowing course and Regatta Center. The park features a 400-acre fresh water lake for rowboats and kayaks, miles of paved trails and roads for running and cycling, picnic areas, and more. Nathan Benderson Park will provide a perfect spectator-friendly setting for the event’s standard- and sprint-distance swim, bike and run courses.
Nathan Benderson Park is operated by the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, Inc. (SANCA), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business. The mission of the organization is to improve the quality of life for Sarasota and the surrounding communities.
