Qualification and Selection Criteria

ITU Qualification Procedures
Four medal events will be held per gender (8 total) for a combined maximum field of 80 athletes (36 men, 36 women, 8 gender free):

Men's medal events: PTWC, PTVI, PTS4, PTS5
Women's medal events: PTWC, PTVI, PTS2, PTS5

  • Qualification slots will be allocated to each National Paralympic Committee (NPC) through the ITU Paralympic Qualification List – maximum of two qualification slots per medal event (16 total per NPC)
  • To be eligible for selection by an NPC, athletes must be ranked on the ITU Paralympic Qualification Ranking as of June 28, 2020, and be internationally classified with either a "Confirmed" sport class status, or a "Review" or a "Fixed Review" date sport class status both with a review date after December 31, 2020
  • An NPC can enter a maximum of two eligible athletes per medal event.
