USA Triathlon is governed by the Board of Directors, which has general charge of the business affairs and activities of the organization and defines the policies to be followed in carrying out the purposes of the organization as set in the bylaws. All members of the Board must be current annual USA Triathlon members.

Leadership is also provided by boards on the regional level and various assigned committees and commissions.

USA Triathlon annual elections are conducted in accordance with Article XXI of USA Triathlon's bylaws. Complete details on the nomination process, candidate platforms, and other items up for vote on the ballot are documented each year.

USA Triathlon Bylaws (PDF)

In the 2016 USA Triathlon general election the membership approved revisions to ARTICLE VII, ARTICLE XIX and ARTICLE XXI.
 
Under ARTICLE XIX of the USA Triathlon Bylaws, sections of the Bylaws may be amended by vote of the Board of Directors. Any such resolution to amend the bylaws by vote of the Board of Directors shall be posted on the USA Triathlon website with a prominent link from the home page for a period of not less than 30 days prior to being voted upon.
 
The Board of Directors approved the following articles be revised and posted for 30 days.

Financial Information

The USA Triathlon financial statements have been posted to help our membership understand the financial activities of the organization. The financial statements posted are two-year comparison statements that include the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities and Net Changes.

Also included are the USA Triathlon Form 990 Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax. The returns are submitted to the Internal Revenue Service on an annual basis.
