Hometown: Merrick, New York

Education: B.A., Fordham University; Master's, NYU

Current occupation: Have been working in the property management field for about 39 years, and some consider me a serial entrepreneur. I have been a business owner for most of my career and currently provide consulting, training and expert witness services in property management. I am a USA Triathlon Level II Certified Coach and coach athletes through my Inspired Performance Multisport business. Irrespective of my position or title, the role I play most often and most passionately is that of coach/mentor.

Professional Affiliations: USA Triathlon, Community Associations Institute, Institute for Real Estate Management

Years Involved in Multisport: Started racing triathlon in 1985 and have completed 250 multisport events (as of Sept. 2018), including 16 ultra-distance events.

Your Role with USA Triathlon: Over the past years, have served as Age Group Committee Chair (12 Years), Hall of Fame Committee Chair (7 years), Chair of Athletes of the Year Sub Committee, Chair of National Championships Selection Committee, USA Triathlon Strategic Planning Committee and Member of National Board of Directors from 2005-2007 and since Nov. 2014. As a board member, I chaired the Anti-Doping Task Force, which created a PED education and testing program for age group athletes and serve as liaison to the National Coaching Committee, the Ethics Committee and the National Championships Selection Committee.

What drove you to the multisport lifestyle? Like many, I started as a runner and was “curious” about this relatively new sport that a few lunatic friends were getting involved in. After completing my first tri (Westchester Tri, New York), I fell in love with the sport and after a few more events, was hugely attracted to the inclusive nature of the multisport community. Elites, age-group winners, mid- and back-of-packers alike were all one community, accepting each other for the commonality of loving to participate. The sport is way bigger now, and my commitment is to work to continue that community environment that drew me in “a few years ago.”

Athletic Accomplishments: Past member of Team USA, 250 multisport races (including 16 ultra distance), eight marathons, a couple dozen half marathons, tons of 15k, 10k, 5k events from prior to triathlon, avid alpine skier. High school football and wrestler. Team in Training NJ Head Tri Coach 13 years.
