2021 USA Triathlon Most Inspirational Comeback Award

This award is recognizing athletes with who have compelling and inspirational stories to tell.  It can include a memorable story about a great race that was accomplished post a traumatic event or perhaps a story about the recover process and impact I has had on the athletes and/or others around them.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligible applicants must be current annual members and in good standing with USA Triathlon.

Past award winners are not eligible for nomination. Past honorable mention recipients are eligible.

CRITIERIA

Nominations will be submitted through an application and supporting materials to the USA Triathlon National Office by February 28, 2022.

  1. Describe how the nominee has overcome hardship through perseverance, dedication and determination.
  2. Explain how the nominee has contributed to the multisport community through this accomplishment.
  3. Describe the ultimate short and long term goals of this person that relates to multisport activity.

SELECTION PROCESS

The USA Triathlon Age Group Sub-Committee will decide on up to five award winners from the applications received. Up to five winners will be selected each year for the USA Triathlon Most Inspirational Comeback Award.

TIMETABLE

  • Date application is available online – November 30, 2021
  • Last date application accepted – February 28, 2022
  • Age Group Awards Sub-Committee reviews applications – March 2022
  • Award Recipient(s) announcement – April 2022
