“I am thrilled to have these 10 bright, young handball players help us grow our sport among younger generations. This was an idea that I saw the National Hockey League implement with great success, and we were ecstatic to bring the same concept to team handball,” said USA Team Handball chief executive office Barry Siff.

“I am confident that this Council, with its passion and energy for team handball, will help us generate excitement among the youth. With grassroots and youth development being such a huge priority for our organization, our Youth Advisory Council’s efforts will be critical towards our efforts growing this sport on a sustainable level.”

The Council members will work with USA Team Handball to accomplish the following goals and objectives:

-To connect with younger generations of athletes and integrate them into the sport’s growth

-To consult younger individuals on USA Team Handball’s efforts and strategies

-To grow USA Team Handball’s social media presence among younger demographics

-To develop new ideas and methods of appealing to younger audiences

-To boost interest in the sport of handball with American teenagers and young adults

-To encourage leadership and professional development among high school-age students who are passionate about sport and the Olympic Movement

The Youth Advisory Council will begin its meetings in June.
