USA Team Handball Is Now Accepting Applications For Its Athletes' Advisory Council

USA Team Handball's Athletes' Advisory Council will work to advocate the interest of athletes in all areas of USA Team Handball influence and governance.

USA Team Handball will be electing SIX individuals to serve on the USATH Athletes' Advisory Council (THAAC)!  
 
The purpose of the THAAC shall be to advise the Athlete Directors on the USATH Board of Directors and to advocate for the interest of athletes in all areas of USA Team Handball influence and governance.

Who is qualified to serve on the AAC?

In order to serve on the AAC, an individual (i) must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by December 31 of the year in which the election is held; (ii) must be registered as a member of USATH at the time of  applying as a candidate for election; and (iii) must not have a record of a felony criminal conviction involving theft, financial improprieties and other crimes involving moral turpitude or SafeSport sanction or provisional suspension or a criminal conviction or other court sanction of similar nature.

What AAC positions are being voted upon in this election?

There are nine (9) positions on the AAC.  Three (3) positions are currently held by the USATH representative to the USOPC Athletes’ Advisory Council, the USATH alternate representative to the USOPC Athletes’ Advisory Council, and the Beach Handball athlete representative on the USATH Board of Directors.  The following six (6) AAC positions are being filled in this election:

(i)           One (1) male and one (1) female indoor Team Handball candidate, each of whom has finished in the top half of USATH’s Open National Championships (Elite or Division 1 or such future formatting that is equivalent to Elite or Division 1) within twenty-four (24) months before the election.

(ii)          One (1) active male Beach Handball athlete and one (1) active female Beach Handball athlete who has, within the ten (10) years preceding election, represented the United States in the IHF Beach World Championships, the Pan American Beach Championships or its successor the NORCA/NACHC Beach Championships, the World Beach Games, or the World Games.

(iii)         One (1) male athlete who has played at least one (1) game as a member of the Men’s National Team within the twenty-four (24) month period before the election and (ii) one (1) female athlete who has played at least one (1) game as a member of the Women’s National Team within the twenty-four (24) month period before the election.
