
USA Team Handball will establish a Youth Advisory Council in order to accomplish the following goals and objectives:
-To connect with younger generations of athletes and integrate them into the sport’s growth
-To consult younger individuals on USA Team Handball’s efforts and strategies
-To grow USA Team Handball’s social media presence among younger demographics
-To develop new ideas and methods of appealing to younger audiences
-To boost interest in the sport of handball with American teenagers and young adults
-To encourage leadership and professional development among high school-age students who are passionate about sport and the Olympic Movement
COUNCIL:
-10 individuals between the ages of 14 and 18 years old
-Council will report to USA Team Handball staff (Barry Siff, Melissa Zhang, and Emily Hewitt)
-Council will convene for ONE (1) meeting per month, organized and led by Communications Manager, Melissa Zhang, and Administrative Manager, Emily Hewitt
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
-Must be a student currently enrolled in high school in the United States
-Must be within the ages of 14 and 18 years old
-Must demonstrate a passion for sports and the Olympic Movement, particularly handball
-Must be proactive and organized, with excellent communication skills, a strong familiarity of social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, and previously demonstrated leadership abilities
