New York City Team Handball Club Wins 1st NORCA Super Globe Qualifier

The New York City Team Handball Club held off a determined Team Quebec side to win 30-25 and take the first ever North American & Caribbean IHF Super Globe Qualification Tournament yesterday in Lake Placid, NY.  The match was close in the first half and for the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half, but NYC was able to go on a 6-1 goal run to take a 26-21 lead and Quebec could not close the gap.

The tournament MVP was New York City’s, Benjamin Briffe.  Briffe a former French League professional, tallied 20 goals in two matches.  Also sharing top scoring honors for the tournament, was former Brazilian national team player, Anderson Seidel who scored 20 goals for LA.  The Most Valuable Goalie honors went to Team Quebec’s Justin Danulet.

The New York City Team Handball Club will represent the North American & Caribbean region at the IHF Super Globe tournament, scheduled for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 28-31 August, 2019
