Tonight’s game had a personal touch for head USA Coach Robert Hedin. Though new to being the USA head coach, he is providing all the opportunities he can for the USAMNT success. Tonight’s game was played against St Galen (1st Division Switzerland), which showcases a very familiar player to coach Hedin. His son Amadeus  “The Prodigy” Hedin plays center back for St. Galen.

Coach Robert was able to secure a game during the international week and show his son where his new job has landed him. Robert had opportunities to work with his son off and on for many years while he was playing and coaching handball for some of the best teams in the World.

The USA MNT concluded the last training game with a 30-36 loss to the first division club, TSV St. Otmar St. Gallen. The MNT fell into a deficit heading into halftime with a score of 12-21. Outstanding team defense in the second half allowed the men were able to claw back into the game and come within five goals. Led by Ian Hüter (8), Paul Skorupa (6) and Abou Fofana (6) goals. Also adding solid defense and contributing with scores were Alexander Binderis (4), Ethan Pickett(3), Alec Zeck (2) and Ford Dyke (1).

Rene Ingram led the way in goal and was relieved by Eric Finch during parts of the game.

On another note Amadeus Hedin contributed 2 goals in the Father-Son duel. Robert appreciated the special moment and proud to see his son play.

The USA concludes their training camp with a team dinner and exit meeting. It was great to have the expertise of Ford Dyke, Nick Moore, and Kirsten Eaton paying attention to detail in mental, physical and weight training preparation.

It is exciting to say the the Men’s National team has started to build some momentum heading into the 2019 Olympic qualification year.
