USA Men’s National Team Tryout

Tryout will be for Junior and Senior National Teams.  You can be considered for the Junior National team if you are born in the year 1999 or 2000. There are no age requirements for the Senior National Team.

The USA Men’s National team recently qualified for the 2019 PAN AM Games in Lima, Peru. This tournament is an official Olympic qualifier and will take place July 24, 2019 to August 11, 2019.

The USA Men’s Junior National Team qualified for the second leg of the IHF Developing Nations Tournament in Chicago, IL. This tournament is pre qualifier for Junior World Championships.

HOUSING, MEALS & FEES: Athletes have the opportunity to stay at a local hotel that is a short walk to the Auburn University athletic facilities, and offers an exclusive rate for USA Team Handball. The approximate cost is $70 per night. There are a variety of food options located at Auburn University. All food is self funded. There is a program registration fee of $30 for junior athletes and $50 for senior athletes, paid in advance. Please register online at, select events and the appropriate tryout date.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION: Athletes should fly into the nearest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Atlanta, GA (ATL). We recommend arranging for a shuttle service from the airport to Auburn, AL, the University’s campus is easy walking distance from the hotel. We recommend Groome Transportation for our athletes. All athletes will be responsible for their own transportation throughout their stay.  Use the following link to set up airport shuttle transportation.

To Register:

    • Enter all the requested information to complete the registration process.
    • Make sure that you select “Check-Out” on the last step prior to submitting your registration.
    • Your registration will not be considered complete until payment has been made.

USA Men’s National Team Handball Forms: Each athlete is required to complete and submit paperwork for USA Team Handball, the sport’s National Governing Body, prior to participation in the tryout

  • USA Team Handball Medical Background and Release Form: All athletes must bring a physical, completed copy of the Medical Release form with you to the tryout. You will turn in this form during check-in. DO NOT send your Medical Release prior to arrival.
  • Copy of Insurance Card: Tryout participants are required to provide proof of valid health insurance coverage upon their arrival at the tryout. USA Team Handball will provide sport accident insurance for injuries sustained during the tryout process. This will be a supplemental coverage to your personal coverage and does not cover non-tryout related illness or injury.
  • USA Team Handball Liability Release Form: All athletes must bring a physical complete copy of the Release of Liability form with you to the tryout. You will turn in this form during the check-in. DO NOT send your Release of Liability prior to arrival. Athletes under the age of 18 years are required to attain a Parent’s Signature on the form.

ELIGIBILITY: The tryout is open only to U.S. citizens meeting the age requirements previously addressed at the top of this page. Participating athletes must possess a level of athleticism, fitness and technical ability consistent with that of a high level collegiate player learning the sport and competing successfully at our tryouts.  Athletes who played numerous sports in high school and college often become very good Team Handball players. No refunds will be offered to athletes who are not selected for the program.
