Sept. 27, 2017, 1:58 p.m. (ET)

Colorado Springs, Colorado (September 27, 2017) - Following a recommendation from its Executive Search Committee, the USA Taekwondo Board of Directors voted unanimously to confirm Steve McNally as the new permanent Executive Director for the NGB effective October 1, after a short period serving as Acting Executive Director since September 1.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Don Reynolds, said: “The Executive Search Committee, which included directors as well as Mr. McNally’s predecessor Keith Ferguson and Athletes Advisory Council Chair Barbara Brand, carefully considered all alternatives in light of our organization’s current circumstances and opportunities. That Committee unanimously concluded Mr. McNally is the right person for the job, and the Board whole-heartedly supported the recommendation. Significant considerations leading to our decision included Mr. McNally’s considerable sports management experience, including 3 years with USA Taekwondo, his skills in communications and building relationships with constituents, his enthusiasm and always positive outlook.

McNally said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead USA Taekwondo into a truly exciting future. Since the day I arrived I have been humbled by the warm welcome and support I have received from the taekwondo community, and to be given the chance to repay them for that is a responsibility I do not take lightly. I intend to greatly improve the lines of communication between the National Office and the constituents, and to build a culture founded on integrity, inclusion and sporting excellence. I would very much like to thank the Board of Directors and the Executive Search Committee for their confidence and support, and look forward to sharing my vision for the future of USA Taekwondo with you all very shortly.
