Junior Team Member Rodriguez Visits With Korea President

(October 1, 2015) -- On September 28, USA Taekwondo Junior National Team member Ceana Rodriguez (New Britain, Conn.) was among a select group invited to a prestigious event held at the Korean Cultural Service of New York (KCSNY) at the Consulate General in New York City. Rodriguez took part in a special recognition award ceremony for her involvement and invaluable services toward the Korean culture. The ceremony was held in the presence of Korean President Park Geun-hye who was in New York to announce the official launch of the Korean government's plans for cultural expansion and growth throughout the world.

Rodriguez, who has lived and trained in Korea, is a Junior Honor Society member and has been the recipient of the President's Education Award, the President's Physical Fitness Award, and the 2014 AAU Youth Leadership Award.

Also on hand for the ceremony in New York was 2014 Miss America Nia Sanchez, who holds a 4th-degree black belt in taekwondo. Photos from the event are below.
