Athletes of the Month - December

Yijun Feng

18 year old Yijun Feng (Atlanta, GA) won a hat trick plus one at the 2015 US National Championships in Las Vegas on December 14-19. Feng beat Mark Hazinski (Plano, TX) in the finals of Men's Singles and then teamed up with Jack Wang (Livingston, NJ) to win the Men's Doubles and Ying Lu (Philadelphia, PA ) to win the Mixed Doubles. Feng also won the Men's Under 22 Age division over Kunal Chodri (Palo Alto, CA).

Feng also received a direct entry into the 2016 North American Olympic Trials as the US Men's Champion and will not have to qualify by finishing among the top 3 in Greensboro, NC on February 4-6 at the US Olympic Trials.

Jiaqi Zheng

2015 Pan Am Team Gold Medalist, Jiaqi Zheng (Miltpitas, CA) claimed her first US Women’s Singles crown with a spirited 4-2 victory over Yue “Jennifer” Wu (Newark, NJ) in Las Vegas at the 2015 US National Championships.

Zheng also received direct entry into the 2016 North American Olympic Trials and will be able to bypass the US Olympic Trials to be held in Greensboro, NC on Feb. 4-6.
