Eighty-eight players took part in the September Westchester Little Open on Sept. 26-27, conducted under Covid-19 rules and protocols. Six players were rated 2500+.This was the club's 100th Open tournament since starting in 2011.
In the final of the open event, U.S. men's team member Sharon Alguetti (rated 2631) defeated Mishel Levinski (2552) (8,5,11). This was his seventh Westchester Open win, tying for second place in the list of greatest number of Westchester Open titles. (Kai Zhang is still first with 22.) The club's next Little Opens will be held on Oct. 24-25, Nov. 21-22, and Dec. 19-20. In addition, the club is hosting a special Two-Person Teams Championships, with $8,000 in prizes, on Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 27-29 (pending sanctioning). For more information see www.westchestertabletennis.com
