USA TABLE TENNIS AND THE HAPPY PARADISE FOUNDATION TEAM UP AGAIN

FOR THIRD YEAR OF PONG4KIDS GRANT PROGRAM

Non-Profit Youth Organizations Throughout the United States are Encouraged to Apply for Grant of

Tournament Quality Table Tennis Gear – and a Chance to Host a USATT Sanctioned Tournament for Members

(Colorado Springs, CO) – USA Table Tennis and the Happy Paradise Foundation today announced the launch of the 2020 Pong4Kids Grant Program, which will provide over $5,000 worth of table tennis equipment and USATT Memberships to not-for-profit youth organizations throughout the United States to promote health and fitness, as well as the growth of the sport of table tennis.

The 2020 Pong4Kids Grant Program, which is being supported by the Happy Paradise Foundation for the third consecutive year, will once again award elite quality table tennis equipment to non-profit youth organizations in need of assistance in promoting table tennis to young persons in America. Also, as with last year’s program, one non-profit youth group will be granted a free one-year affiliation membership with USATT. In addition, each and every member of that organization who is sixteen years of age or younger will receive a free one-year membership to USATT. The staff at USATT Headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, will then work with that youth group and its members to host and run a fully sanctioned USATT table tennis tournament, the results from which will be uploaded into the USATT ratings system.

“I’m excited once again for our group to support the Pong4Kids Program,” said Paul Moyland, President of the Happy Paradise Foundation. “We strongly believe in the health and wellness benefits derived from playing table tennis – particularly for young people. We’re interested in doing all that we can to ensure that all young people have an equal opportunity to play this great sport of ours.”

“USATT is thrilled to join forces once again with the Happy Paradise Foundation for the Pong4 Kids Program,” said Virginia Sung, the Chief Executive Officer of USATT. “We’re always proud to promote table tennis as a game for life, and we want to introduce as many people as possible to our sport as early as we can. As with last year, we’re very happy to offer a USATT membership to a non-profit youth organization and that club’s young members because we believe that playing in a fun competition is the perfect way to introduce young people to the camaraderie and social benefits that are such a large part of the table tennis experience.”

The application for the Pong4Kids Program is currently available on the USATT website. In order to be eligible for the Pong4Kids Program, applicants must be a registered not-for-profit organization, a USATT affiliated member club, and/or affiliated with an accredited school. Applications must be submitted on or before Wednesday, November 25, 2020. The recipients of this year’s grant awards will be announced on or before December 15, 2020.
