USA Table Tennis Announces Cancellation of the US Hopes 2020 National Finals
National Governing Body for the Sport of Table Tennis to Cancel the Event Due to the Rise of COVID-19 Cases.
(Colorado Springs, CO – November 3, 2020) – USA Table Tennis (“USATT”), the National Governing Body for the sport of table tennis, today announced the cancellation of the 2020 Hopes National Finals that were to be held in Akron, OH on December 2-5th, 2020. The USATT will continue to monitor the environment and will make necessary changes to keep us all safe and healthy.
“Out of an abundance of caution, and in an effort to limit any potential exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the USA Table Tennis Association will be canceling the 2020 USATT Hopes National Finals – Road to L.A. to be protective of our athletes, officials, staff and the public,” said Sean O’Neill, Director of High Performance for USATT. “All participants that have paid their entry fee will receive a full refund."
