By USATT | Feb. 08, 2020, 9:37 a.m. (ET)

To Members of the Table Tennis Community of America:

By now, all of us are aware of the difficult circumstances being experienced throughout the world as the result of the coronavirus. The outbreak of this virus has had a particularly deleterious impact on the people of Asia and has raised tremendous concern for our table tennis friends in China.

After further conversations with Chinese Table Tennis Association’s president Liu Guoliang, USATT is seeking to take a leadership role in the effort to help the people of China in this challenging time, and we would encourage our members and supporters to join in this effort.

With respect to direct action, USATT is immediately undertaking two specific steps to provide aid in this cause.

First, USATT has reached out to our long-time supporter, Hero Wipes, and, with that company’s assistance, has purchased a significant quantity of their 64% ethylalcohol sanitizing wipe products which when used properly can eliminate up to 99.9% of bacterial pathogens, thus significantly reducing the likelihood of the inadvertent spread of this infectious virus.

The products purchased by USATT can be found at the following links:

Furthermore, USATT is establishing the organization’s headquarters in Colorado Springs as a receiving station for any and all items that members of the American table tennis community would like to donate to this cause. Items that are needed include surgical masks, surgical gloves, and anti-bacterial soap products and wipes.

USATT will undertake to box and ship the supplies received at headquarters to the appropriate agencies in China for distribution and use in their country.

Persons seeking to help can send these supplies to:
