USA Table Tennis Suspends all Sanctioned and Approved Activities and Events Through January 15, 2021

Suspension is Based on Public Health and Safety Concerns Due to the Current Status of the COVID-19 Pandemic

All Current USATT Memberships will be Extended for One Month Due to the Suspension of Events

(Colorado Springs, CO – December 7, 2020) – USA Table Tennis (“USATT”), the National Governing Body for the sport of table tennis, today announced that, due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic and the corresponding concerns for the health and well-being of the table tennis community, all USATT events, including Sanctioned Tournaments, USATT Approved League Play, and Official Training Camps will be suspended through January 15, 2021. The organization will evaluate the status of the pandemic relative to public health and safety concerns at that time and determine whether the suspension of activities should be extended or lifted.

“Regrettably, we feel that we must once again suspend sanctioned and approved activities due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said USATT Chief Executive Officer Virginia Sung. “It goes without saying that our primary concern is the safety, health and well-being of our members, as well as our staff, coaches, volunteers and the entire table tennis community. We understand that this suspension of activity may create hardship for some people and businesses, but we believe that at this moment we all should take every precaution possible until public health circumstances improve. We’re hopeful that we’ll all be able to turn a positive corner as we head into 2021, and we want to do all we can to ensure that everyone remains healthy until we can safely return to hosting table tennis activities again.”

As with the suspension of sanctioned and approved activities in the spring of 2020, USATT will credit the tournament sanction fees paid by USATT Member Clubs for all postponed events until the next event hosted by those Member Clubs. USATT will also extend the membership of all current members for one additional month. Please send any questions regarding sanctioning fees or membership issues to

USATT thanks our members for their continuing support of our organization and our efforts to keep all persons in and around the table tennis safe community safe and well in these difficult times.
