USA Table Tennis Announces Board of Directors Selection and Election Procedures

BOARD OF DIRECTORS SELECTION AND ELECTION PROCEDURES

USATT Nominating and Governance Committee Will Conduct Selection and Election Process

For Two At-Large Positions and One Club Director Position in Accordance with USATT Bylaws

 

(Colorado Springs, CO – August 31, 2020) – USA Table Tennis (“USATT”), the National Governing Body for the sport of table tennis, today announced the selection and election procedures for positions on the organization’s Board of Directors. USATT’s Nominating and Governance Committee will conduct the selection and election process for two At-Large Director positions and one Club Director position pursuant to procedures established in Section 7.6 of the USATT Bylaws.

At-Large Director Positions

Any USATT General Member may seek election for one of the two available At-Large Director positions as long as that person meets the requirements described in Section 7.6(b)(3) of the Bylaws. The candidate must be an adult General Member (age 18 or older) in good standing in 2020. The Record Date (date of the beginning of the election) will be October 29, 2020.

At-Large candidates should submit their interest to Mark Thompson (Mark.Thompson@usatt.org) by Thursday, September 10, 2020 at noon ET. Applications should include name, USATT ID number, date of birth, and phone number, and should indicate interest in the At-Large Director position.

 

Candidates must then obtain at least 25 signatures of support from current USATT General Members and submit the signatures along with a one-page statement through the official USATT online election system. Members will submit signatures of support on the official USATT online election system between September 14, 2020 and October 14, 2020. Voting will commence on October 29, 2020 and conclude on December 13, 2020.

 

• Thursday, September 10, 2020, Noon ET: Deadline for candidate submission

• Monday, September 14, 2020: Nominations platform opens, start of Signature Gathering Period

• Wednesday, October 14, 2020: Nominations close, conclusion of Signature Gathering Period

• Thursday, October 29, 2020: Ballot to be published, election opens

• Sunday, December 13, 2020: Voting period concludes

• Wednesday, December 23, 2020: Certification of the election

 

Club Director Position

Anyone interested in the Club Director position must meet the requirements of Section 7.6(b)(2) of the Bylaws. The applicant must submit their name for candidacy to Mark Thompson (Mark.Thompson@usatt.org) by September 14, 2020. Applications should include name, affiliated club, applicant’s position within the club, date of birth, and phone number, and should indicate interest in the Club Director position.

 

Applicants for the Club Director position are not required to collect any signatures for the 2020 election. The Nominating and Governance Committee will evaluate the interested and qualified applicants and publish names on the ballot.
