Joerg Bitzigeio Resigns as USATT High Performance Director

Colorado Springs, Colorado - September 2, 2019 - 

USATT CEO Virginia Sung announced today that she has accepted the resignation of USATT High Perfomance Director Joerg Bitzigeio. Mr. Bitzigeio resigned for personal reasons.

His resignation is effective on September 6th. CEO Sung stated, “USATT recognizes and thanks Joerg for all of his hard work in developing the USATT High Performance Program to its current high level. In his two years as High Performance Director, Joerg implemented many positive changes that helped our athletes to become a true team. USATT wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.”

To ensure the continuity of the High Performance Program, Ms. Sung has named two-time Olympian Sean O'Neill as the interim High Performance Director while USATT searches for a permanent hire.

CEO Sung stated, “Not only is Sean an Olympian, he has won two gold medals at the Pan American Games, and he has served as the Head Coach of USATT’s Paralympic teams. I look forward to him building on Joerg’s work and taking the High Performance Program to new heights.”
