October 26 and 27 will feature one of the most popular table tennis tournaments in the US for the year, as the Edgeball Chicago International Open takes place.

Defending champion Eugene Wang of Canada is back on board and hoping to repeat his success of 2018, but he will face stiff competition at this year's event.

Tournament organizers have arranged a true spectator experience by bringing a handful of well known table tennis stars into the field of play. On the men's side are defending champion Eugene Wang, Brazil's Thiago Monteiro and African great - Nigeria's Quadri Aruna.

Meanwhile the ladies are incredibly well represented also. The tournament will host Spain's Galia Dvorak and Hungary's Georgina Pota.

While the big names line-up for the event, they are joined by an incredible number of competitors - over 300 players already registered for the event.

Plenty of competition will be looking to take down the big names with the likes of Yichi Zhang in the draw looking to represent his home ground, and players coming from further away - Yahao Zhang from Colorado, Ojo Onaolapo of Nigeria, Mishel Levinski from New York and many others.

The tournament promises to be a fantastic one for both competitors and spectators alike, so be sure not to miss all the action by attending the event, or by watching the livestreams (to be posted on usatt.org)
