USA's Lily Zhang has been in the spotlight recently, going from her incredibly run of 4 golds at the Pan Am Championships, to placing 4th at the Women's World Cup (a historical US record) and then the US Women's Team reaching the quarterfinals of the World Team Cup, where she put up a valiant fight against one of the year's biggest performer's, Sun Yingsha.
The results have garnered the attention of the table tennis world, and this month Zhang was nominated for two ITTF Star Awards.
The annual awards will take place in Zhengzhou, China in December and Zhang has been nominated for both the Star Point Award and the Breakthrough Star Award.
In the Star Point category is Zhang's outstanding World Cup rally with Japan's Miu Hirano, where Zhang - forced back from the table, was able to turn things around and launch a blistering counterattack to win the point.
In the Breakthrough Star category, three players have been nominated and Lily Zhang is in good company alongside Chinese Taipei's Lin Yun-Ju and China's Wang Chuqin.
Please be sure to support Lily in both categories!
