The US teams have successfully navigated their way into the medal rounds of the Men's and Women's team events in Lima, Peru.

Both teams were victorious in the group stages yesterday and had advanced into today's quarterfinals. The women took on Cuba, while the men faced off with the Dominican Republic.

For the women it was a dominant display, with the team showing the challenges ahead for their opposition. The high level across all three players on the team shows why the USA are defending Pan American Games champions, and why Cuba posed no trouble to the trio of Wu Yue, Lily Zhang and Amy Wang.

Once again the strong doubles combination of Wu and Zhang was too strong in the opening match of the tie, with Amy Wang following up to add to her win tally from yesterday, and Lily Zhang finishing the job.

It was a simple task for the ladies, winning all three matches by 3-0 margins.

They move on to compete for a spot in the final against Brazil tomorrow morning.

In the men's quarterfinal, the USA were able to secure the all-important doubles match against Samuel Galvez and Wu Jiaji. This left Wu with the potential to claim only one point in the tie, which he did with a convincing display against Nikhil Kumar.

Despite that result, Kanak Jha sailed through with 2 wins and handed the USA a 3-1 victory.

The US men will also move on to the semifinals to play Brazil, arguably the toughest men's team in the competition, but one that the team will fight hard to try and rise above!

We wish our teams the best for tomorrow's matches and congratulate them on their guaranteed medals in the events!
