The USA Hopes Tour was a great success in 2018, with 116 talented young hopefuls participating in a series of training camps and qualifying tournaments around the country. This year the program grew even further, with 161 hopes players taking part, and with the addition of training partners up to the age of 14 - close to 250 youth players were involved in the success of the program.
With Hopes events from New York to California, the camp and tournaments have been a blazing success. Under the experienced lead of National Coach Pieke Franssen, along with assisting coaches across the nation, the participation in Hopes training camps has been a real positive.
With the aid of social media, we have been able to observe the exceptional fighting spirit, determination, and more importantly the unity of our young emerging stars as they train together and make new friendships.
With the USATT Hopes Week & Challenge just around the corner, 15-21 April, in Sacramento, we will find out which Hopes players will rise to the top in the hopes of representing the USA against Canada, and hopefully on to have the honor of playing for North America at the ITTF World Hopes Week & Challenge.
Along with practice partners, 32 hopes players will train and compete next week, 16 boys and 16 girls.
You can see the participation stats from the training camps below:
We sincerely hope that the program continues to grow, and encourage any clubs to look into hosting an event on the USA Hopes Tour in the future!
