USA Fields Talent Packed Squad of Nominations and Qualifiers for 2018 North American Hopes Tournament

It all kicked off on March 2nd at the Lily Yip Table Tennis Center in New Jersey, as the first training camp and qualification began on the 2018 USA Hopes Tour. Six events would take place across the country, spanning across March and April from east coast to west. Players would compete for the top spot for each respective gender to earn their place in the US team for the 2018 North American Hopes Qualification Tournament, May 31- June 2 in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

Indeed thanks must be extended to the 6 hosting clubs - Lily Yip Table Tennis Center, California Table Tennis Club, New Jersey Table Tennis Club, Alameda Table Tennis Club, Columbus Table Tennis Club and Maryland Table Tennis Center, along with their staff and support. Of course the honorable mention goes to Pieke Franssen, the head coach on duty for proceedings along the 2018 USA Hopes Tour, he was present for all 6 training camp and qualification events across the months of March and April and did an outstanding job of guiding our young future talents. 

A total of 12 players (6 boys and 6 girls) qualified directly by winning one of the regional hopes qualification tournaments, those players are as follows:

One further girls nomination was allowed as Canada handed one spot back to the USA.

One boy and one girl will succeed from the North American Qualifier to attend the prestigious World Hopes Trial, an event which has put the limelight on many talented players who have excelled through their cadet and junior years!
