Kanak Jha has aimed high and landed among the stars as he has attained a status which many players around the world could only dream of. As of the March ITTF World Rankings, the American teen prodigy has landed himself the accolade of achieving world number 1 ranking in the Junior Boys World Ranking.

Jha, who was in 3rd position last month after having won the prestigious World Junior Circuit Finals, moves ahead of India's Manav Thakkar and China's Wang Chuqin to take the top spot. World Junior rankings focus on the top 5 results logged by each player and Jha has an impressive portfolio in his current list.

He was the winner of the Argentina Junior Open and Croatia Junior Open on the 2017 World Junior Circuit, moving on to take victory at the ITTF Pan American Junior Championships, reaching the last 32 in the singles of the World Junior Championships where he suffered an excruciatingly narrow loss to an in-form Truls Moreagardh and of course taking the Grand Finals title in Luxembourg last month.

USA's Sharon Alguetti and Victor Liu both feature in the top 50, Alguetti at 29th and Liu in 49th - up from 58th after a strong performance in Sweden just days ago.

In the Junior Girl's ranking Amy Wang moves up from 13th to 11th, sitting right outside the top 10 girls in the world. Rachel Sung and Crystal Wang come just within the top 50.

In the Cadet Boy's World Ranking, Nikhil Kumar moves up one space to 4th position. Rachel Sung maintains her 5th ranking in the Cadet Girl's.

Promising growth across the US National Youth teams for the future of the sport. Congratulations to Kanak on his new career achievement and to all TTTeamUSA youth players on their improving international status!
