The Lull in the Storm - Wednesday Activities at the 2018 World Veteran Championships

By Larry Hodges | June 19, 2018, 8:01 p.m. (ET)

As is traditional at the World Veterans, Day Three (Wednesday) is an off day, giving players a rest after two days of hard play. So what to do on Wednesday?

The one thing you DON'T want to miss is the 2019 World Veterans Tour Launch Party, presented by the Monday Club. It will be held at the Brooklyn Bowl from 7:30-10 PM. It's FREE to all event participants, guests and officials. (Bring your credentials to get in. Must be 21 or older.) The Brooklyn Bowl is located on the Las Vegas Promenade, adjacent to the High Roller.

The playing hall will be open for practice from 10AM to 4PM. Here's your chance to get some doubles practice, practice your serves, hit with your friends from around the world, or just general practice.

JOOLA will be hosting Q&A's and seminars on Wednesday afternoon with Joerg Rosskopf and Chen Weixing. Meet at the JOOLA booth. Here is the schedule:

  • 12:00-12:30: Q&A with Joerg Rosskopf

  • 12:30-1:00: Q&A with Chen Weixing

  • 01:00-0:15: Photo session with Rosskopf and Chen Weixing

  • 01:15-2:00: How to improve your serve seminar with Joerg Rosskopf

  • 02:00-2:45: How to play with and against long pips seminar with Chen Weixing

There are numerous tours and, according to rumors, other activities in Las Vegas. Here are some pages of interest.

  • Group Tour Operators

  • About Las Vegas, including About Las Vegas, Visitors Guide, Cirque du Soleil Special Offers, Getting Here, Entertainment, Restaurants, and "Must Do" in Las Vegas. I strongly recommend the Cirque du Soleil - I did the Beatles one last year and it was amazing.

There is also a USA Table Tennis Board of Directors meeting from 8:30AM - 4:30PM in Diamond rooms 1-2 at the convention center (playing hall). The meeting is open to all USATT members, except for occasional closed sessions for personnel and other confidential matters.
