"I'll be back" famous lines from the terminator himself, and 2018 will see his infamous multi-sports festival return to Ohio. The table tennis event, this year sponsored by Joola, is of course one of the big events during the challenge and has attracted some of the nations top table tennis competitors over the years. March 2-4, 2018 will not only see a collection of the countries best active players competing for the top prize, but also for the first time the tournament will also host the first ever US National Ranking Tournament.

The past two years of competition have seen defender Li Jian take away the big prize against some tough opposition, last year overcoming Liang Jishan in the final. This year boasts over $12,000 in total prize money and is one of the top events in the country on the 2018 calendar.

This Arnold Challenge will be preceded by the first US National Ranking tournament, in which invited players will be given a shot at earning their place on the US National Team. So alongside the usual high level of competition which the Arnold Table Tennis event promises, there will be added excitement as players fight for just 2 positions on national team.

You can find more information about the National Ranking event here.

Last year saw a 5 set thriller in the final where Li Jian, defending champion and high level chopper, defied the odds and overcame Liang Jishan 4-1. Liang who is well known for being particularly strong against defensive players met his match at the final hurdle as Li upped his game to win back to back crowns.

What will 2018 bring? Well why not go along and see for yourself, or better yet get entered and experience the competition first hand!
