USATT Youth Ambassador Program Expands Footprint Nationally

June 27, 2017 (Colorado Springs, CO) – USA Table Tennis (USATT) CEO Gordon Kaye, along with USATT Youth Ambassador Stephanie Chen, announced today the establishment of the first-ever USATT Youth Ambassador Council. Under Chen’s guidance, the Council will work directly with the CEO and various groups to promote and develop community-based grassroots youth-focused table tennis programs. The Council will also assist in the 2017 Pong4Kids Grant allocation process later in the year.

“Stephanie approached me a few months ago with the idea of expanding the scale of the Youth Ambassador program,” commented Kaye. “With the great work she has done in the Bay Area, I thought it was a very logical next step for the program. My expectation is that the Youth Ambassador Council will play a big role in assisting USATT in developing and implementing programs to introduce the great sport of table tennis to kids across the United States.”

“It has been so much fun last year showing people all of the great benefits of table tennis as USATT’s Youth Ambassador,” added Chen. “I know the Youth Ambassador Council will be a great way to work with other young people around the country who love the sport as well to reach more kids and show them the many positive benefits of playing table tennis.”

Applications for the Youth Ambassador Council will be made available on USATT’s website,, on or about July 15th. Six additional Youth Ambassadors will be selected from qualified applicants before September August 15th. Council members, which must be under 18 years old, will be expected to participate in regular conference calls and one in-person meeting, which will be held in conjunction with a major USATT event (US Open or US Nationals). A strong emphasis on regional, gender, and ethnic diversity will be made in the selection process.
