Saturday, 1/7/2017 - The New Year's Winter Open was a great success with over 50 people in attendance (players, volunteers and guests.)

The net proceeds, from this event, which included many generous gifts, went to the great cause and support of No More Sidelines. Brad Brushman, President, WMiTT, presented a check for $1,000 to Cyndi Blair, Founder, and Executive Director, No More Sidelines. Thanks to all who made this possible.
No More Sidelines is a non-profit organization, run by volunteers, committed to helping children and young adults with special needs in our community. They provide children and young adults with special needs, ages seven and older, an opportunity to play sports year round and to participate in community events and outings.  Click here for more information.
Congratulations to the Class A Champions: from left to right, Justin Heslinga, 2nd Place; Fred Knapp, 1st Place; Roman Zilberman, 3rd Place.  In the playoffs, all eyes were on Justin, who earned his way from seventh seed to Second Place. Great performance, Justin!  This was Roman's initial visit to our venue, hailing from Oak Park, MI.  His talents earned him a spot on the winners platform.
This is the second time, in as many events at WMiTT, that Mr. Knapp has captured a First Place Award - currently holding the title "City Champion", from the 2016 Muskegon Open.  WMiTT looks forward to seeing all the players at future events.

Class B medalists were Derek Lennen, 2nd; Michael Southerton, 1st; & Brian Helander, 3rd place.
Class C conquerors - Francis Hsu, 2nd; James Feiler, 1st; & Alan A. Grambo, 3rd place.  Complete tournaments results available online.
And the Class D troupers - Chase F. Klinesteker, 2nd; Jake Everts, 1st; & Randall Moore 3rd place. Many of you have asked about your USATT national tournament rating, they are now available online.
Special thanks to the extraordinary team from Mona Shores and West Michigan Christian Schools, who helped with scorekeeping matches, recording results, accounting of participants and awards presentations. You committed, you preformed at your best, and respectfully responded to the many questions in the field of play.  Thank you for your service . . .  A higher standard has now been set at WMiTT.
