African Table Tennis in Diaspora hosts 3rd Tournament

The African Table Tennis in Diaspora is an organization with high hopes of sustaining Table Tennis. We host events mainly to promote a healthy life. A few years back, here in Atlanta, we hosted Aruna Quadri- who is currently 27th in the Table Tennis world ranking.
Our vision is to allow all different races to come together and support Table Tennis. Also, we use our tournament as a platform to promote a positive image of all Table Tennis players regardless of their skin color. Lastly, to emphasize Table Tennis as one of the exciting and best sports in this world.

On Sept 30th, 2017, we hosted our 3rd Annual Table Tennis event here in Atlanta. Almost 90 players registered for this event, and all the players ranking are within the range of 1400 to 2538.  We had players that flew in from other states such as Detroit, Texas, North Carolina, and Florida, etc.

We had over 20 players with the rating of over 2000 range that registered for the event, and special thanks to Atanda Musa for honoring our request to attend. Highlights of the tournament included Di Yu, of Triangle Table Tennis who became the eventual winner of the tournament. A.J. Carney, also from Triangle Table Tennis came 2nd, and Atanda Musa finished 3rd, while El Boubou came the 4th position. Thanks to our sponsors such as Joola, Mr. Dayo Obebe (Founder of Riverchase Dental Care), African Grill, Queen Caribbean Restaurant, Fad Dining Restaurant, Green White Green Auto, Prince of Wales, Laff Theory Entertainment, AGTTA  and Southern Suya. Another thanks to Wendell Dillon, Brian Crisp and members of the African Table Tennis in Diaspora that donated financially and physically towards the event.

The tournament was a huge success. The turnout was great, and feedback from the players was positive and encouraging. Hence, we have started planning towards the 4th African Table Tennis in Diaspora for Sept 28th, 2018. Our ultimate goal is to make Atlanta the hub for hosting the best World table tennis players.  If you have any questions, please email us at africandtt@gmail.com.  Also, feel Free to visit agtta.org or Tabletennisdiaspora.org for more information.
