ALAMEDA, AUSTIN AND TRIANGLE NAMED USATT CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE

USA Table Tennis announced today that Alameda Table Tennis Center (Alameda, CA), Austin Table Tennis Club (Austin, TX) and Triangle Table Tennis Center (Morrisville, NC) have been named National Centers of Excellence. The three join a distinguished list of current NCOE clubs, including Broward Table Tennis Club (Dania Beach, FL), India Community Center (Milipitas, CA), Lily Yip Table Tennis Center and Academy (Dunellen, NJ), Maryland Table Tennis Center (Gaithersburg, MD), New York International Table Tennis Center (Flushing, NY), and The Top Spin (San Jose, CA).

Located in Alameda, California, the Alameda Table Tennis Center becomes the third Bay area club to be named a National Center of Excellence. Offering a wide range of table tennis programming for players of all ages and skill levels, ATTC’s coaching staff includes former Dutch National Team and Olympic coach Pieke Franssen, former US National Team member Jackie Lee, former Over 50 US Nationals Champion Avishy Schmidt, former Danish Elite League player Jonathan Nielsen, and ITTF Level 2 Coach Dave Hanson. With over 5,700 square feet of dedicated space, the club features 14 professional Butterfly Centrefold tables, spacious barriered courts and excellent lighting. ATTC was the host of the 2015 West Coast ITTF Hopes Training Camp and Tournament in April. For more information, visit www.alamedattc.org.

With 17 tables and a dedicated 12,000 square foot facility, the Austin Table Tennis Club has become a hotspot for the growth of table tennis in Austin, Texas. Headed up by Operations Manager Marguerite Cheung (also an ITTF Level 2/3 Coach), Head Coach Yang Yu (ITTF Level 3), and its 7-member Board of Directors, the club has seen its regular membership swell from 40 members in 2010 to over 140 members today. Coach Yu’s efforts have grown interest in the club and the sport through strong elementary/school, junior, and senior programs – and private and group lessons, clinics, and table tennis research. The club hosts 4 USATT tournaments per year, runs a league program with over 250 unique members participating at least once over a 6 month period, and recently expanded its public hours to include 7 days a week. ATTC recently completed a $35,000 renovation which included the installation of new flooring and other facility improvements. For more information, visit www.austintabletennis.net.

In the heart of the Research Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC), Triangle Table Tennis Center (Morrisville, NC) is a 30,000 sq. ft. dedicated table tennis training and competition center. Open seven days (and approximately 80 hours) per week, the club features 35 Butterfly Centrefold competition tables, Gerflor Taraflex 6.2 mm sport flooring, high intensity (over 1000 lux) lighting, robots, cardio and strength fitness equipment, break room, wi-fi, fully stocked pro shop, locker rooms with showers, and spectator seating.  Catering to both elite and recreational players, TTTC offers private and group lessons, camps, weekly leagues, monthly USATT sanctioned tournaments, special and corporate events, court and robot reservations, and open play, all of which is managed and led by our professional staff and expert coaches, including former Olympians and current USATT Board members.  For more information, visit www.triangletabletennis.com
