New York Table Tennis League

New York Table Tennis League June 14th 2015

A new date of the NYTTL was Sunday June 14 at the New York Indoor Sport Club in Flushing, NY.  The new club Atlanta International Table Tennis Academy (AITTA) played the first matches in the league.  In the opening AITTA faced Spin New York, in one of the best matches in the league so far.  The experienced players: Tahl Leibovitz,  De Tran and Paul David played a young and promising team : Shi Diwei, Jack Wang and Zhao Ziriu.  All matches were played in only one table, which made the event more memorable and full of emotions.  De Tran lost to Zhao 0-3, in the first match, in the second match Tahl using all his experience had two matches points when he was leading 2-1, but a reaction of Shi gave him the fourth game by 12/10. Finally in the fifth game he won 11/6.  Paul David did a great match against Jack, losing for the very tight score of 9,10 and 9.  The last two matches were also very tight.  In that way AITTA won 5-0.  In  other match, played in the next table, NYISC C defeated Wang Chen B, 5-3.  Sergio Gonzalez was able to manage the times  and speed in the matches, giving 3 point to Wang Chen B,  a  notable recuperation after just 2 months of surgery in his right shoulder.  The eyes of players were in Filipa, the penholder player from Europe, that lost 2-3 to Scott Shi in a very tight match, no doubt she will keep improving his style with a backhand which is her signature in the club.  Adrian, the Argentinean player, also played for first time in a competitive event, and he did fine, but the experience of Hsu, Wang and Shi was no match for this new players.  Spin NY finally faced also NYISC C, in this time , the new raising star Estre Ackerman impose his style winning 2 matches, Thal contributed with 3 matches, so the final score was a victory for Spin NY by 5-2.  In the final match of the Afternoon, AITTA played to NYISC B, in this opportunity we had very  nice matches, with experienced players (Wang, He and coach Liu) facing the young and fast (Zhao, Jack and Shi), even the result was favorable by 5-0, in the table the matches were intense and full and very high level shots.

Currently the league is leaded by AITTA, followed by NYISC A.   The next match will be played on August 14 at the NYISC located at 134-32 35 Avenue in Flushing NY, starting at 3:00 pm with the promising match of the two leaders of the league: NYISC A and AITTA.

An advance of the next match in the league with this video of the Open tournament at NYISC in May, where Gao Janyun faced Jishan Liang in the final, both players are in NYISC A, which will faced AITTC, probably it will be a great match.
