Notice 05/06/13

As a result of a complaint filed against Lim Ming Chui for behavior that allegedly took place at the 2012 U.S. Open in Grand Rapids, MI, a hearing was held before a Hearing Panel appointed by the USATT Ethics and Grievance Committee. The Hearing Panel rendered a decision, suspending Mr. Chui from USATT sanctioned events for a period of one year, beginning January, 1, 2013. Mr. Chui then exercised his right to appeal the decision to the Board of Directors. The Board, acting pursuant to Bylaw 10.11, appointed a Special Committee of three Board members to review the matter. That Special Committee reviewed the entire matter, and rendered a decision that extended the period Lim Ming Chui is suspended from competing in USATT sanctioned events from one year to two years effective Jan 1, 2013. Mr. Chui is eligible to apply for reinstatement of his competition privileges as of July 1, 2014. Mr. Chui requested that the Board reconsider this decision. The Board discussed the matter at it April 20, 2013 meeting, and affirmed the decision of the Special Committee.

This exhausts the internal processes available within USATT on this matter.
