Colorado Springs, Colorado (June 25, 2019) – USA Synchro, the national governing body for synchronized swimming, announces an exciting partnership with TeachAids, a nonprofit leader in global education innovation. Together, the two organizations hope to promote athlete safety through TeachAids’ CrashCourse concussion education.

In collaboration with over a hundred medical and industry experts, TeachAids created CrashCourse to improve understanding and awareness surrounding concussions among youth athletes nationwide. The curriculum integrates state-of-the-art technology and interactive features to appeal specifically to youth growing up in the digital native generation.

“While educating youth athletes, it is so important to speak to young people in a way that resonates with them,” said Geoffrey Abrams, Director of Sports Medicine at Stanford University. “CrashCourse is a truly revolutionary tool because it is provides the latest medical knowledge from student athletes who are admired and trusted.”

More than 38 million youth are engaged in sports across the United States. While concussions have become one of the most widely discussed issues in contact sports like football, concussions affect athletes across most sports. USA Synchro prides itself in promoting best practices for concussion education amongst its community.

As a leader in the US Olympic Committee, USA Synchro will provide concussion education to their membership through multiple channels. To start, they will showcase the CrashCourse content at every major synchronized swimming competition throughout the nation, starting with their largest international competition in the world later this month in New York. Additionally, they will offer a Certificate of Completion to all their athletes who complete the concussion education program directly through the USA Synchro webpage. And lastly, Coaches will be armed with the CrashCourse concussion education in order to best serve and build trusting relationships with their athletes.

“As a member of the aquatic community, as a swimmer, I have seen how important it has been to respond to injuries that may not be as visible to others,” said Natalie Coughlin, American competitive swimmer and twelve-time Olympic medalist. “I commend US Synchro for taking a leadership role in promoting concussion safety amongst youth athletes.”

“The safety and well-being of our youth athletes is an integral part of our mission,” said Adam Andrasko, CEO of USA Synchro. “We’re excited to provide effective and engaging education as presented by CrashCourse to keep our young swimmers healthy and at their best.”

“We are proud to join forces with USA Synchro to increase the knowledge and understanding around concussions. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with their leadership. ” said Piya Sorcar, CEO of TeachAids.

The CrashCourse curriculum will be instituted throughout USA Synchro’s programs nationwide starting today via their website. The program is also available for free by visiting: http://crashcourse.teachaids.org
