Joy Cushman Inducted Into International Swimming Hall of Fame

USA Synchro congratulates Joy Cushman on her recent induction into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as a Pioneer Synchronized Swimmer.

Cushman has been a competitor, administrator, official and promotor of synchro for more than seven decades. Among her career highlights are serving as Chief Official for synchronized swimming at six Olympic Games, nine Pan Am Games and four FINA World Championships. She has received the FINA Silver Pin and the Lillian MacKellar Distinguished Service Award.

“I don’t know what to say – it was a beautiful occasion,” Cushman said about the induction ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. “I was so honored that there were so many synchro friends and family in attendance. The ceremony was beautifully presented.”
