US Free Duet Finishes Eighth in Canada

SURREY, B.C. – The U.S. duet of Ruby Remati (Andover, Mass.) and Yara Elian (Walnut Creek, Calif.) finished eighth in the free competition Saturday on the final day of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series event in Canada.

Remati and Elian, making their debut as a duet, scored 82.4667 points. Japan’s Yukiko Inui and Kanami Nakamaki won the event with 92.9333 points.

Competing for Team USA at the Canada Artistic Swimming World Series were Anita Alvarez (Buffalo, N.Y.), Grace Alwan (Andover, Mass.), Paige Areizaga (Palm Coast, Fla.), Yara Elian (Walnut Creek, Calif.), Nicole Goot (San Jose, Calif.), Hannah Heffernan (Las Vegas, Nev.), Cassandra Neeley (Williamsville, N.Y.), Daniella Ramirez (Miami, Fla.), Ruby Remati (Andover, Mass.), Abby Remmers (Sugar Land, Texas) and team captain Emma Tchakmakjian (New Canaan, Conn.)

The FINA World Series now moves to the Synchro America Cup, sponsored by Orange County, June 6-9 in La Mirada, Calif.
