SEVILLE, Spain – The U.S. 13-15 National Team finished seventh in the free combo final Friday at the Comen Cup.

Team USA finished with 74.1332 points. Russia won the event with 86.7332 points, followed by host Spain (83.1332) and Greece (80.5000).

“This year’s Comen Cup has proven to be an extremely competitive contest. Each year the level of poise and preparedness of the competitors has risen, and this year is no different,” said Megan Azebu, coach of the U.S. 13-15 National Team. “The opportunity for our team to compete with some of the top athletes in their age group in the world is invaluable. With a younger and less experienced team, getting out on the world stage is an extremely important facet of their development as National Team competitors.”

Competing in the free combo for Team USA were Miko Begossi, Yujin Chang, Emily Ding, Marlena King, Olivia Li, Chiara Steele, Megan Tappe, Gabriella Terry, Ashlyn Wang and Marilyn Weaver.

The Comen Cup continues through Sunday with figures and duet and team finals.
