Team USA Takes 9th in Team Free At FINA World Junior Championships

BUDAPEST, Hungary – Team USA finished ninth in the team free final Saturday at the FINA World Junior Artistic Swimming Championships.

The U.S. scored 83.4667 points in the final. Russia (93.667), Ukraine (91.8000) and Japan (90.5667) took the top three spots on the podium. The U.S. had also scored 83.4667 points in the preliminary earlier in the day.

“I’m very proud of them. The girls did a great job,” U.S. National Team Coach Lolli Montico said. “They swam very well and were focused through the end.”

Competing for the U.S. in the team free were: Grace Alwan (Andover, Mass.), Yara Elian (Walnut Creek, Calif.), Nicole Goot (San Jose, Calif.), Hannah Heffernan (Las Vegas, Nev.), Cassandra Neeley (Williamsville, N.Y.), Daniella Ramirez (Miami, Fla.), Abby Remmers (Sugar Land, Texas) and Emmanuella Tchakmakjian (New Canaan, Conn.).

The U.S. will compete in the free combo event on Sunday. The championships are being live streamed at https://www.finatv.live/.
