Reuniting for the first time since last March when the “Stand Beside Her” tour, presented by Major League Baseball (MLB), was cancelled as a result of COVID-19, the WNT kicked off the 2021 season Jan. 4-16 in Lakeland, Fla. with a two-week training camp held at Barnett Athletic Complex, home of the Florida Southern College softball program. The Red, White and Blue took part in a series of workouts, practice sessions and simulated game situations throughout the two week training session.

Members of Team USA gathered in Dallas, TX for their second training camp of the year held at Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy Feb. 1-12, where the team continued with a series of workouts, practice sessions and simulated game situations throughout the two week training camp.

The Red, White and Blue continued their preparations in a March training camp, which included a three game series against Team Mexico, three exhibition match ups against the University of South Florida (USF) and a solo exhibition contest against the University of Florida as part of the 2021 Stand Beside Her tour, presented by MLB.The games marked one-year since the Red, White and Blue returned to competition following the postponement of the pre-Olympic Stand Beside Her tour, presented by MLB, last year.

The “Stand Beside Her” tour is a series of competitions and training opportunities for the 2020-21 USA Softball Women’s National Team (WNT) as they prepare for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which have been rescheduled to July 21 – Aug. 8, 2021. The “Stand Beside Her” message encourages fans everywhere to stand united in their support of the WNT and the United States in their journey to the Olympic Games.
The “Stand Beside Her” tour evokes a powerful message of unity aimed to inspire communities to stand beside HER – the members of the WNT, America and the future generation of female athletes.
