Ron Hackett (Richmond, Va.) – Men's National Team Head Coach

Ron Hackett took over the Men’s National Team Program in fall of 2019. Having served as an Assistant Coach for the Men’s National Team during the 2019 season, Hackett helped guide the U.S. to a fifth-place finish at the 2019 WBSC Men's World Championship.

At the grassroots level, Hackett serves as coach for the Hallman Twins. Starting out as a player in 1991, Hackett played at the Men’s Open/Major level for Jac n Do’s Pizza and continued through 2002 for teams in the Philadelphia area. After taking a brief break to focus on his career and family, Hackett returned to the Open level to manage Elkland’s Softball Association team in 2013-14 before moving on to manage the Northeast Drillers (2015-16) and coach the Hallman Twins (2017-current). Since starting with the Twins, the team has placed third behind powerhouses N.Y. Gremlins and Hill United Chiefs at the 2018 and 2019 USA Softball Men’s Major National Championships. At the International Softball Congress (ISC) World Tournament, the Twins went from finishing fifth at the 2017 tournament to finishing third in 2018 and 2019.
