KANSAS CITY, Kan. –– The WPF (Women’s Professional Fastpitch) inaugural exhibition season kicks off today in Kansas City, Kansas with two athletes from the 2022 Women’s National Team rosters as well as two U.S. Olympians set to compete in the league’s debut. Made up of a series of stops from June 14-August 6, the inaugural season will consist of the USSSA Pride and Smash It Sports Vipers facing off against each other as well as other teams at various stops across the U.S. For a full list of WPF events or to learn more about the league, visit wprofastpitch.com.
Team USA athlete Jailyn Ford will take the field for the USSSA Pride this summer while also competing with the U.S. at the Canada Cup and 2022 World Games. In addition to Ford, 2020 U.S. Olympians Ali Aguilar and Delaney Spaulding will join the Pride for the inaugural WPF season. Selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the inaugural WPF collegiate draft, Jocelyn Alo will join the Smash It Sports Vipers following her legendary collegiate career at the University of Oklahoma. In addition to the WPF season, the NCAA home run leader will wear the Red, White and Blue for the first time in her career as a member of the Canada Cup roster, which is set to compete in Surrey, BC, Canada June 20-26.
