OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball, a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization announced today that Jeff Morrow (Fair Oaks, Calif.) has been appointed as Commissioner for USA Softball of Sacramento. Morrow takes on this role following the retirement of Commissioner Jeff Dubchansky.

“I look forward to using my extensive experience and knowledge of USA Softball of Sacramento as an asset to positively impact the organization as a whole,” said Morrow. “I feel that my understanding of many past and current internal functions of the USA Softball of Sacramento organization will allow me to fairly assume the Commissioner role while continuing the coordination and promotion of softball throughout the greater Sacramento area.”

Morrow steps into the role of Commissioner for USA Softball of Sacramento after previously serving as the Adult Softball Supervisor for the Greater Sacramento Softball Association (GSSA) – a position he has held since June 2013. In that role, Morrow planned, directed and supervised adult slow pitch leagues for the GSSA as well as recommended policies and procedures, prepared written and oral reports, assigned work schedules, made hiring decisions and evaluated the performance of staff and participants in the organization. In addition to that role, Morrow has also held the title of Adult Slow Pitch Classification Chairman of the Pacific Coast Region and Player Representative for USA Softball.

Morrow’s experience in the softball world also extends to the officiating side of the sport as he garners over 20 years of experience as a Registered Umpire for USA Softball of Sacramento/GSSA, holding the titles of Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Umpire-in-Chief during his tenure. He has attended and hosted local, regional and national USA Softball of Sacramento/GSSA Umpire Schools and clinics and is also a member of the National Indicator Umpire Fraternity.

Outside of USA Softball, Morrow has extensive experience in Parks and Recreation, serving in two different departments as a Recreation Supervisor since his start in 1985. Morrow graduated from California State University-Sacramento with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a focus in Finance.
