OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball of Northern California, a volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization, is seeking applicants for the position of Commissioner.
The applicants for USA Softball of Northern California Commissioner should be individuals interested in leading a multi-faceted softball organization which serves adults, youth, seniors, and umpires. This position serves as a principal liaison between the Northern California association and the USA Softball National Office in Oklahoma City. Founded in 1933 as the Amateur Softball Association, USA Softball has evolved into the strongest softball organization in the country. The growth and development of the association led the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) to name USA Softball as the National Governing Body of Softball, pursuant to the Amateur Sports Act of 1978.
About the Position
In addition to the job duties listed in the attached job description, the Commissioner of USA Softball of Northern California will perform the following within their role:
- Lead the Board of Directors
- Manage Association’s finances
- Attend meetings/events
- Oversee the Nor Cal Office Manager
- Direct and work with volunteers of the program
A selection committee appointed by the USA Softball of Northern California Board of Directors will review the documents submitted and select the most qualified applicants to attend an interview tentatively scheduled for mid to late August.
