OKLAHOMA CITY –– USA Softball announced today the list of athletes invited to participate at the 2022 USA Softball Women’s National Team (WNT) Selection Trials to be held January 1-6 at Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Fla. Those athletes who accepted the invitation to try out will vie for a spot on the 18-player roster for the 2022 USA Softball WNT that will compete at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, which will signify as the 2022 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup.

Comprising the 2022 Women’s National Team Selection Trials 45-player invitee list includes present and former athletes from seven athletic conferences: American (one), Atlantic Coast (four), Big 12 (six), Colonial (two), Pac-12 (15), SEC (14) and USA (one) who represent 20 NCAA Division I universities.

Highlighting the list of invitees are 11 members from the Tokyo Olympic silver medal team: Monica Abbott (Salinas, Calif.), Ali Aguilar (Orangevale, Calif.) Ally Carda (Elk Grove, Calif.), Hannah Flippen (San Diego, Calif.), Rachel Garcia (Palmdale, Calif.), Haylie McCleney (Morris, Ala.), Michelle Moultrie (Jacksonville, Fla.), Dejah Mulipola (Anaheim, Calif.), Aubree Munro (Brea, Calif.), Bubba Nickles (Merced, Calif.) and Delaney Spaulding (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.). In addition, five former Women’s National Team members and nine former Junior Women’s National Team members will be amongst the athletes participating at the 2022 Selection Trials. Additional athletes may be invited at a later date.

Recently named Head Coach for the 2022 USA Softball Women’s National Team, Heather Tarr (Redmond, Washington/Washington Softball Head Coach) will lead the Red, White and Blue after serving as an assistant coach for Team USA’s silver medal finish at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The complete coaching staff and schedule for the 2022 WNT will be announced at a later date.

The roster for the 2022 USA Softball WNT will be announced at the conclusion of the Selection Trials.
