USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, seeks applicants for the position of Communications Manager. This is a full-time position at the National Office in Oklahoma City, Okla.

USA Softball Communications Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Communications
- Manage all aspects of communications for USA Softball for optimum exposure including press releases, website postings and press conferences
- Manage department by prioritizing tasks, creating schedules, providing guidance and assigning appropriate duties
- Coordinate all public relations activities and interview requests
- Manage all Social Media accounts in conjunction with marketing as it relates to the USA Softball brands
- Maintain, and update USASoftball.com as the webmaster
- Coordinate with Marketing Department for ad inclusion in publications, social media posts, press releases and email blasts
- Act as liaison between USA Softball and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee in the fulfillment of the USOPCs Digital Media Agreement covering all items related to website content, banner ad placements and live video streaming
- Oversee all USA Softball nominations for national athlete and coach recognition programs including Women’s Sports Foundation Sportswoman of the Year and USOPC Athlete of the Month
- Maintain biographical information on current and former USA Softball national team players
- Oversee USA Softball event media services, including press box operations, photos and publicity; assist by providing training on usage of scorekeeping and live streaming software
- Work in conjunction with the Marketing staff on the promotion of all online auctions, contests/promotions and collectible programs conducted by USA Softball or partners
- Work in conjunction with the Marketing staff on campaigns and other marketing initiatives as they pertain to the communication/public relation aspect of the association
National Teams/International Events
- Act as the liaison between all USA Softball national team staff, coaches, players and the media
- Serve as main contact for all USA Softball National Teams, events, tours and championships for communication, promotion and publicity
- Provide guidance to local organizing committees in the areas of communication, social media, live streaming and other publicity-related tasks
- Work with participating countries in gathering team and athlete information for use in event programs and other publicity surrounding the event
- Assist in other national team duties as assigned
Printing
- Manage content and coordinate with third-party provider in printing publications including Official Rules of Softball, Scorebook, marketing pamphlets and various manuals
- Solicit bids from printing contractors and negotiate sales terms for printed materials and publications
- Communicate with local associations in the distribution of printed membership materials
Hall of Fame/Annual Meeting
- Manage all aspects of the Hall of Fame Museum including exhibits, publicity and guest relations
- Work with the national Hall of Fame Committee by gathering nominations and creating information binders for the committee members
- Arrange, setup and host the Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Annual Council Meeting
- Assist with Annual Meeting including setup, presentations, run of show, committee meetings; provide training at select sessions
Collegiate Programs
- Maintain existing media relationships with college SIDs, writers, ESPN and other news outlets to facilitate the promotion of softball at the collegiate level
- Manage the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, and Player of the Year program
- Serve as the media contact for NCAA Women’s College World Series and any NCAA Softball event at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex

Required and/or Desired Skills:
- Ability to work at National Headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field
- Minimum of four years experience preferred
- Excellent organizational focus and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of Communications and Public Relations
- Photoshop, Graphic Design, ability to create graphics preferred
- Ability to write/edit HTML codes
- Clear, concise and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be a self-starter as well as work in team environment to assist the Communications Department in providing quality customer service.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and travel domestically/internationally
- Works effectively and quickly in a dynamic environment
- Ability to lift heavy packages and work outside for events
- Eager to learn in an ever-changing industry
- A passion for sports, softball preferred
