Men's Class C Slow Pitch National Championship: Day Two Recap

OKLAHOMA CITY –– Day two of the Men’s Class C Slow Pitch National Championship saw a combination of tight competition and explosive offenses with nine games being won by a close margin of three runs while 15 games were won via the run-rule. After a total of 35 games played in day two, only four teams remain in the hunt for the Men’s Class C SP National title and are set to duke it out tomorrow starting at 8:00 am CT with the Championship Game set for 11:00 am CT.


Advancing through the winner’s bracket with three wins on the day was Reno Cycles & Gear and Beloli/OSS Apparel, each securing their spot in the winner’s bracket finale with the winner advancing to the Championship Game. Reno Cycles & Gear kicked off their first game of the day with an explosive 35-12 run-rule victory over Knee Deep Brewing/LS before sending Aftermath and MAT/Wahl/Nzone to the loser’s bracket with a pair of wins. The Reno offense totaled 10 long balls through their first three games of the day with Steven Abina, Mark Thompson, Dyllon Harper, Larry Lopez, Brett Pierce and Brian Williford each sending one out of park while David Cruz and Chad Kendall each recorded two.


On the other side of the bracket, Beloli/OSS Apparel dominated their way to the winner’s bracket finale with three run-rule victories over EKH/Eagles/DMS, Square One/Spiderz and CIDW/GOT while scoring a combined total of 71 runs and holding their opponents to a low of 11. Ryan McElhinney tallied four homeruns for the Beloli offense while Miles Whitlock and Michael Maciag each sent two out of the park. Also contributing to the Beloli long ball was Cory Kroger, Nicholas Campbell, John Slootmaker and Corey Batista with one apiece.


With a trip to the Championship contest on the line, Beloli/OSS Apparel stole the show in the winner’s bracket finale with a 28-11 win over Reno Cycles & Gear to advance to the trophy game. The Beloli offense scored early and often, plating at least one run in every inning with Campbell and Batista hitting one homerun apiece while Whitlock added two to increase the Beloli long ball total to 16 on the day.


Fighting through the loser’s bracket was D&R Miller Concrete and MAT/Wahl/Nzone who are set to face-off in the 8:00 am CT win-or-go-home game tomorrow morning with the winner advancing to the loser’s bracket finale against Reno Cycles & Gear for a chance at the title game. D&R Miller Concrete recorded five loser bracket wins on the day to advance to Championship Sunday while MAT/Wahl/Nzone bounced back with one loser bracket win over Russells Paint & Body after falling to Reno Cycles & Gear in the winner’s bracket.


The action continues tomorrow morning at 8:00 am CT with the loser’s bracket kicking off the first two rounds of games followed with the Championship contest at 11:00 am CT with free live streaming available throughout the entire day. Links can be found here.
